What is GRS? Can water-based PU be GRS certified?

What is the Global Recycling Standard Certification (GRS/RCS Certification)?

The Global Recycling Standard Certification (GRS/RCS) is the Global Recycle Standard Global Recycling Standard.

The Global Recycling Standard (GRS) is an international, voluntary, and comprehensive product standard that sets out third-party certification requirements for recycling content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions. The goal of GRS is to increase the use of recycled materials in products, and to reduce the use of final products or semi-finished products containing recycled components. Currently, the certification is mainly concentrated in textile and garment enterprises, such as recycled bottle flakes, recycled polyester filaments, recycled polyester short-term yarns. , recycled fabrics, re-formed clothing, etc.

What are the aspects of GRS/RCS certification?

The following four modules of GRS certification:

Recycled ingredients: More than 20% of the product’s recycled ingredients are certified access conditions.
Social Responsibility: If the company has successfully passed the social responsibility audits such as BSCI, SA8000, GSCP, etc., it can be exempted from assessment after being evaluated by the certification body.
Chemical management: Chemical management guidelines and policies used in the production of GRS products.
Environmental management: Does the company have an environmental management system that controls whether energy use, water, wastewater, and waste gas are used.
RCS certification is only certified: the model of regenerative components. Product regeneration components greater than 5% are certified access conditions.
